  • To cover/cup with the hand, or keep something sealed up: 捂住嘴 (wǔzhù zuǐ) clap a hand over one's mouth, 捂着伤口 (wǔzhe shāngkǒu) press on a wound.
  • 捂 also = to keep covered so heat builds up: 捂汗 (wǔ hàn) bundle up to sweat out a cold, 捂出痱子 (wǔchū fèizi) develop a heat rash from being bundled up.
