One part gives the meaning, the other gives the sound.
In the small seal form, the town on the right gives the meaning and the good part on the left the sound.
用法
- Very bound, essentially fossilized in one modern word: 新郎 xīnláng "bridegroom," always paired with 新娘 xīnniáng "bride."
- It historically meant "young gentleman" and survives in old poetry and idioms, but you won't meet it standing alone in everyday speech.
